WELCOME TO BILL'S SPOKANE AM RADIO TOWER PAGE
This site is a tribute to all of those who have worked in radio broadcasting in Spokane. My intent of this site is to provide historical and current information about AM transmitter sites in Spokane, and to connect the past with the present. I hope that you will find your experience here to be interesting and meaningful.
The author is a misplaced native of Spokane currently living in Maryland, who fondly remembers the old AM stations from when he grew up in Spokane. I don't profess to know all details about each and every station, but I enjoy doing raw research and learning more all the time. And I like to share with others what I have learned.
So far, I have identified at least 26 distinct AM transmitter sites in Spokane. As of the date of this writing, eleven stations are using seven transmitter facilities. There is an eighth tower that is not in use. For now, only stations within Spokane County will be considered for this page. Later, I will also be adding other stations from Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington.
Also, at this point I am concentrating on the AM stations. I will tackle Spokane area FM and TV stations later.
This is a work in progress, so you may see some blank spaces and missing information. I ask for your patience as I complete as much as I can on this site. To the best of my knowledge, the information on each page is current as of the date indicated at the bottom of the pages.
If you have not done so already, please go to the Preface page. It will fill you in a little more about what this site is about. You can find it by clicking on the word PREFACE in the right-hand column.
